As key players in the global vacation rental industry, we’re all too aware of the impact of the tourism sector on the environment. We’re committed not only to helping our clients and industry peers to be more sustainable, but also to making sustainable changes in the operations of our business.

Small steps, big impact

Taking care of the environment is as much about making small daily changes, as it is about big actions. We’re conscious that we need to practice what we preach, and are always reviewing our processes to ensure we’re taking every opportunity to be sustainable.

Here are a few of the things we’re currently doing at Avantio which help to cater to the environmental pillar of sustainability.

Remote working/flexi – reduced CO2
Recycling waste
Paper-free (all digital)
Water stations, refillable bottles
Energy efficiency – encouraging heating off and lighting.

The Avantio Partnership

Our commitment to the three pillars of sustainability originates from within the heart of the company and it applies to all our endeavors.

Following advice from GreenVRevents, we work hard to make our Avantio Partnership event as green as possible.

A few initiatives following the three pillars of sustainability that we include at the event are:

Including sustainability as a theme, with key speakers, panel discussions and experts talking on the topic
Our 2022 venue was awarded the Carbon Proof Certified for their sustainability policy. As well as the catering for the event sourcing local ingredients and plant-based options
We tackle plastic pollution by working to make our event plastic-free. From water bottles to merchandise – reusing and recycling materials to reduce unnecessary waste

Learning is a process that leads to change, and we’re committed to educating ourselves about sustainable issues within the vacation rental sector.

With this in mind, we’re proud to be founding partners of EnviroRental, a platform dedicated to providing free sustainable resources to vacation rental professionals. These resources highlight how embracing the three pillars of sustainability benefits not only the planet, but also your business.
