On Thursday HomeAway and Avantio met together again with a key group of important and representative property managers and agencies in Marbella. After careful analysis of the needs of rental property agencies, Avantio and HomeAway joined together to present vacation rental market insight, in addition to changes and developments undertaken to best meet the needs and demands of the ever changing holiday rental management industry.

Of particular interest were recent developments likeAvantio’s document scanner and data export to the local authorities. With one simple swipe of the document, be it passport, driving licence or Identity card, the guest’s details are instantly logged and saved into the software. This can then be exported to the local authorities if required. All in all, a massive help and a huge timesaver in this region and much appreciated by property agencies.
Another extremely well-received functionality and practicality was the PCI Wallet, used to access credit card details legally and securely. Using Avantio’s Channel Manager, in reservations made through HomeAway and also Booking.com, all necessary card details are accessed in a secure pop-up window in the booking itself. By doing so, property managers are fully protected and compliant, and taking payment has now become much more straightforward.
Yet another security benefit is the provision of SSL certificates for vacation property rental websites, which not only boost consumer confidence and therefore bookings, but also improve Google rankings and online visibility. These https certificates have already proved extremely popular.
The Q&A session was very interesting, and highlighted that the work done behind the scenes at Avantio and HomeAway is in line with the real needs of property managers, and it is very rewarding to be able to offer real solutions to improve business results and protect property rental companies from cybercrime.
